Week of Prayer

Download the 2018 Week of Prayer handout

Our 2018 theme is “Pray without ceasing.” This is Jesus’ expectation of His followers (Matthew 6:5, 6, 7) and Paul’s exhortation to the congregation at Ephesus (Ephesians 6:18), Colossae (Colossians 4:2), and Thessalonica (1 Thessalonians 5:17). The theme will help us focus on learning about and, more importantly, practicing prayer. May prayer increasingly become our individual and corporate impulse. One of the ways we will practice prayer is through our week of prayer. Here is our week of prayer guide. Will you resolve and plan to participate?

All are encouraged to pray as individuals or families or small groups for a focused time of prayer at a time that works with your schedules. The recommended duration of the prayer time is fifteen minutes to one hour. Be sure to plan for this or it won’t happen. In the end, participate in whatever way you can.

“I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and he will hear me” (Psalm 77:1). Prayer-less Christians comprise a prayer-less church, but prayer-full Christians make up a prayer-full church. May God make us prayer-full believers with fresh spiritual fire after a week of fervent and devoted prayer!
